Job Description

Within Iv-Groep, Nevesbu is a naval architecture and marine engineering company specializing in the maritime sector. We are looking for a Junior Electrical Engineer for this division. Under the guidance of a (senior) engineer, you will be involved in designing and elaborating solutions for technical issues, including producing design documents with which all applicable requirements regarding quality and integrity are specified. You will be working on different kind of calculations like short circuit calculations, lighting and cable calculations. You will also be responsible for different designs like single line diagram, block diagram and cable routing. You will be engaged in the first phase of brainstorming various designs and communicate daily with the lead engineer and your colleagues within your discipline. Of course, you will also collaborate and work together with other disciplines should the work require.

We operate within the markets: submarines, naval vessels, floating offshore energy and special vessels. Nevesbu has expert in-house knowledge of all these disciplines and provides consultancy and engineering services for all project phases, from the first feasibility studies to the complete design and engineering and site supervision. Examples of unique projects and innovations that Nevesbu has worked on are the upkeep of the Dutch Walrus-class submarines for the Ministry of Defence, Malaysian frigates’ lifespan extension, and an innovative concept for a floating transformer platform.

Job Requirements

You must have a higher vocational/university level degree (HBO/WO) in Electrical Engineering or comparable and one to two years of work experience, preferably in the maritime sector. You enjoy diversity in projects and are not afraid to take on a challenge. You have an excellent understanding of the project context for whatever vessel it concerns and can oversee the whole. Furthermore, you strive to improve and innovate constantly. Therefore, we expect you to demonstrate continuous awareness of the latest developments and actively contribute your ideas as to how we, as a company, can optimally participate herein. Good command of the Dutch language is a requirement.
