Introduction
The larger projects for Nevesbu are usually large conversions of naval ships or offshore vessels. The input of Nevesbu focuses on the ship as a complete system. All disciplines play a role. For the project in Malaysia (currently up to date) is integrated with the ship designed by a host of new devices and systems including their controls and all electrical wiring on board by a team of 16 persons. For major contracts in the offshore Nevesbu does the constructive design of the interface with anchoring systems. In a team of 4 to 8 persons, there’s approximately 1500 tons of new steel defined. The Naval Architecture department consists of approximately 10 permanent employees.
Tasks & responsibilities
- The complete conceptual and basic design of landing craft, patrol boats and hydro graphic vessels;
- Contributing to the design of ships and maritime structures;
- Carrying out supporting naval and constructive calculations;
- Drafting of specifications for outsourcing and realization of the design;
- Guidance and steering of the employees and / or implementation;
- Maintain client contacts and monitor the performance of the work.
Key requirements
- A completed training in naval architecture WO/HBO level (MSc/BSc) preferably Naval Architecture direction
- Minimum 5 years experience in a similar function;
- Familiar with naval calculations (CAD/FEM/NA);
- Excellent command of Dutch and English language;
- Good communication skills and editorial skills;
- Solution-focused institution;
- Well-developed sense of responsibility.
